Killing of a priest

Well talk about knocked about, woke up this morning thinking I was late for class, shot in only to find it was wednesday and we don’t start until 1pm ha, oh well it was still good for me to catch up some time and I managed to get a fair bit of book work caught up, yah. Start of the week was horrendous, apart from my illness having a great hold over me my model for the suicide image ended up in hospital herself, thankfully not a suicide related incident or that would have been to eerie, however as I stated before backup plans, always have them they will get you out of a hole every time. I wanted to print on black canvas, sounds easy right, wrong, there are so many issues surrounding it I found it is easier to print on white using black inks, well I can tell you from the past experiences this costs a lot, so diajet paper will be perfect, a nice flat old look paper that will emphasis the look I want, continued working on two prints until I am happy with the outcome and then brain too addled by a menopausal computer/printer relationship, it has a mind of its own and prints how it likes if it can be bothered some times.

So the next day starts out as normal, blah, but still at college despite it. Bought my 42′ lightbox tv last night for one of my prints, looks fantastic and getting good raves already about the concept :) liking it. I also saw a link from one of my tutors to a job with the geographic societies exhibition here in Christchurch, so being a cheeky bugger I have applied, not thinking I’d get it but no harm right? I did a bit more work on my practicum and getting ready to do my suicide image for which the ‘priest’ will be resurrected and killed in one go, thankfully it will be an epilogue as the priest is a continuing series of images that I had started last year, the priest is a contract killer by night and a regular priest by day, it was a difficult series to shoot for the implications but it was one that worked well and got good reviews.

The Priest

The Priest

So in killing off my priest in a suicide adds to the context and content dramatically, the implications from a priest doing this act knowing it is against his beliefs, this could work out better than using a teenager in the image, certainly a lot more for people to talk about. So this weekends work is while partying for my birthday (always take some time for yourself so not too burn out) I will kill a priest. happy happy joy joy.
