ARRRGGGGHHHH!!

Some days I really just hate technology, software and hardware, it all craps out and is not easily fixable quite often. Trying to print out some of last nights images, simple right? Wrong, I had all the settings correct to print out at A3 size, yet between the computer and the printer its infinite wisdom and god knows what else it decided to print A3 scale 0n A4 paper, so naturally most of the image is missing, no matter how many times I tried adjusting all the settings it was useless, even my tutor had some issues with it,  then go figure it prints!! arrrgghh oh and this is a regular issue as often the connection gets dropped or the printer is unavailable yadda yadda, and this is just what we have to put up with in the digital world, at least with film it was the chemicals or something you yourself did wrong and would have to correct it. One of the images I produced works well, the image while slightly out of focus still projects the image across to the viewer but allows some ambiguity also, it also gives the feel that the subject is still kept in the darkness, the background, not spoken of or bought out into the open. Now I usually don’t do photoshop, but in this case I wanted my just stop sign to be present and as I was limited to the space around me I decided to add it like it was a contact lens, a little refining warping and placing and viola the contact looks in place, however it is sharp focused and draws your attention straight away, why would I do this when the rest is out of focus? Easy I have made it like it is the point of focus, the sharpest part of the image, to me it works on many elements, it will make the viewer ask as to why I have done that, if I used photoshop or if it is a real contact lens, but yes it is added later. Yeah yeah I know going back on myself, but when the tools needed are not there then the next best thing has to be utilized. Besides its not a big manipulation and the main content of body has not been altered in any way at all, justification? Well who cares I am the artist this is how I am going to present the final image, but in the end yes I do care and would look for another avenue next time to fulfill the task without the use of photoshop.

The photoshoot went quite well in the end, it makes it much when you model is able to translate what you say into actions and get into the role easily, it was only a couple hours long, but for me at the end of an already long mentally  demanding day I found that my illness was taking hold and fast, while packing up my equipment it was very hard staying focused and not passing out and for the next few hours my world was pretty hazed, and not in a good way, it took a double dose of meds to level me out enough again that I felt comfortable standing up without feeling like I was going to slam into the floor. Ah the joys of being terminal.

But at least today is a good day and I managed to achieve some good outcome with my images.
