Off Week

Well I have been hit hard this week by the flu, first time in years and worse still while my immune system is very low, have had plenty of warnings from the doctors of course that I cannot afford to get sick as the possibility that a mean strain could result in a hospital visit, worse case scenario a morgue visit. Not really something I would be too keen on doing quite yet, well never really but it is something we are all faced with at some stage near the end of our lives, at least I get more of a chance to appreciate my life and what I have instead of taking it for granted like many others do. So while I have been quietly dying slowly in my bed for the past few days i have managed to revisit my brief and have decided to strip it back to the original concept and K.I.S.S (keep it simple stupid) hopefully this will work and the images I produce will be of a fine arts quality that the gallery will be happy to display. Whether or not I will be happy with them is a different story as I am my own worst critic and often never very happy with what I have created no matter how good it may seem to others, perfection is a difficult thing to achieve and something I strive for in my images. This series will now fall into the fine arts erotic photography as opposed to the original documentary style as I feel being staged it was not working properly and if there was any message it would have been either too literal or lost on the viewers. At least with the straight photography, something I prefer to do, then I know I will create images that others will be happy to view regardless of their tastes and views. There are plenty of other photos and photographers out there that are doing similar works so I have plenty of material too work from and some good reference sources, just as long as the tutors allow me to pursue it then it will be all good, otherwise back to the drawing board once again and time is running short especially as I have had time off with being sick. This time I really need to be the top of my game as the others in class are all fine artists and their works are really good so I cannot afford to let the team down any.
