Critiquing This Week

So I imagine that come critiquing this week that while I could use the images already taken as they are def working on telling a story, but that I will get told how can I expand them a little further, push the boundaries add more context without overloading it with content. Oh an of course as always if and what I do I always must have a why. But this is good, this is what challenges us too strive further, delve deeper and give life too the image. I know there is more I could do to the images retake a few maybe with a different set of props but in the same lighting as that gave both of my models a good natural look that complimented each other. I would like to work further on this as I know I can only improve as having the chance to work in collaboration with a fine artist it has given me an extra set of eyes and they have a different view. I have had the opportunity to work in a collaboration before, my best friend and also model and I often bounce the concept between us working out the finer bits until we both are working I the same mode and then when he gets into character I am able to get the image I wanted too create. However he is by no means an artist and has had limited exposure to any real art in any form, he has been there while I have been doing my formal training as well and I always share my knowledge and the interesting things I know he would enjoy learning himself, he soaks it up and we work together well. But having this new fresh perspective from another artists point of view has been very enlightening, I never really worked on anything in the other years with any class mates, we all mainly did our own work. Now I have this chance where I can work with someone else who can also comprehend where I could be coming from but also have their own great insight and be able to work that into the modelling side of it, giving the viewers the raw emotion that the image is producing. I would have too admit I am enjoying the work a little more than I would have thought, I do not normally work with models (apart from my best friend) I tend too work a lot with inanimate objects and nature, sometimes animals too but that really takes patience and practice, now I am finding that as I have studied other artists works, like Crewdson for example who create whole sets and lots of props to create great compositions and their models are full of character that I could take what I do with the smaller versions and scale it up too human size, or I could also mix it up, take a bit of both worlds and join them together I’ve often explored the idea of miniatures mixed with real life and even wrote a paper on Elgin Park so know full well the ins and outs as I have had a fair amount of correspondence with the creator of the site. Still who knows what I will end up doing, heck even I don’t know yet and probably never will, I think this is what drives me in creating the images I can see from my concepts and translate them into photos that talk. After all isn’t a picture worth a thousand words?
So sitting here thinking about collaborations I might just see if I can get into the studio too rake some images with the skeleton and have my fine arts artist assist me that way I can take my twist and add an outside flavour, something too rattle the bones.
