Week one

After critiquing today I have to sit down with my ideas and start again, not that the ideas themselves are wrong or bad its just as usual I need to expand them more and add some contextual elements into them, again I’m too literal and any meaning I am trying to say I need to say before I take the image. As usual I have the final images already in my mind but the message I want too say is not there yet so I need to deconstruct my own mental images and find the messages in them and how I am going to expand and display this message to the viewers. Fun fun fun. The two ideas that stand out the most so far are the Anonymous group images and the Alice in chains/Diary of a priest series which would be blended together as one story showing the two lives as they intertwine while still having separate identities.

The Anonymous images have been done too death so whatever I produce has too be unique and have a NZ flavor attached too it, the latest spy issues or govt scandal, but how would I go about producing my message, the image is easy but would anybody get the underlying message or would they just see the mask and the background and ask why? Art has to be beautiful to get the most acceptable reaction from an audience however there is beauty in the grotesque as well and this should never be overlooked but en-captured and if must added to the content of the image, whether for shocking value, political an religious overtones it does not matter as it is just as an important part of the artwork itself.

So the next few days will be thinking about which idea I want to use and how I am going to portray the message that I may be saying across too my audience, all the while I still have my After CP group project too do and now I have been given another mini documentary project for my surgery next week, not that I want too document any of my stays in hospital I will fill the brief too show that I can achieve the goals set out.
