Sometimes The Gods Are Good To Us…

Other times they torment Us………

And by the gods I mean the God of Chaos as that God rules.

Instead of doing my model shoot on the two days I thought I was going to do bombed out even bigger this week, forgot the first day was a public holiday so the studio was shut down, ok easy solution just shoot on location and seeing as it a manly shot, haha, a workshop would work fine well that didn’t as it was too congested and we ended up doing housework and pottering. But however it was not a total loss using the little left over pieces of wood I whipped together three little mock up frame styles that I could possibly use when it’s time to exhibit the works. I still have the option of just buying up old large prints in frames with glass already, different sizes of course and use those for my images. Would this be an issue as the frames would not all be the same style, I can always paint them the same colour so that could give some form of unity regardless if the frames themselves were of differently so too speak. As usual the professional thing too do would be to have all the frames the same when presented in a professional gallery, this of course makes it harder for me as I like too fly in the face of normality, though this time I feel that maybe I should make a little more effort too conform for the sake of the college, but then am I bring too myself and therefore my art or would it be considered too be selling out?  That’s something I would never intentionally want too do either, art is a personal thing, a way too express oneself regardless of the topic or subject being photographed. Anytime a photographer creates an image they add a piece of themselves into their work naturally, otherwise why would they have such a passion for their art.

Well at least know myself and several others that do.
So there again I find myself at another impasse, stuck between doing the normal right and professional way too go or do I do whatever I want and make waves or worse jeopardise any future in the art world, controversy does go hand in hand with art, throughout the centuries many artists have committed themselves too creating works that have caused more than a stir with their art and while yes it may not have done them any good while they were alive they have certainly left a never ending mark on society. I do not know what if anything that my art will achieve in my lifetime or after I’m gone, it would be nice too believe that my work would leave its own mark through its own merit.
So as usual I will do what I do and work with it, what other choice do I have in the end?

Well after doing some reading and talking too others then the right thing too do would be to follow my art and not too give into the normality mainstreamed style that I am expected too do. And if I really did do that then that would shock everybody as I would not be doing what it was they expected of me. I think after all they have gotten used to the idea that I don’t do everything to the normal and that I like too push the boundaries as far as I can and bugger the reactions if they are negative, negativity still breeds awareness and art is about getting it out there too the masses in the end.
